Family Sponsorship allows Canadians and Permanent Residents to reunite with close relatives for Permanent Residence. Sponsored individuals, exempt from point systems, rely on family support for establishment. The process includes medical exams and police clearance.

Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship

The Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship Program (PGP) provide avenues for Canadian citizens and permanent residents to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada.

Eligibility Criteria for Parents and Grandparents Program:

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident residing in Canada.

Minimum age requirement is 18 years.

Should be the child or grandchild of the sponsored person(s).
Must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) for the family size, supported by Canada Revenue Agency notices of assessment.

Sign a sponsorship agreement committing to provide for the basic needs of family members for 20 years.

If residing in Quebec, an additional agreement is required.

The spouse or common-law partner can co-sign the undertaking to meet income requirements.
